As part of the development of the city of Burgos as a member of the network of Creative Cities of Gastronomy, the aim is to highlight the following values:

  • Drive the local economy by means of gastronomy

  • Highlight the value of local products

  • Promote the city’s culinary talent by supporting new, creative industries.

  • Champion our city through its cultural heritage and its people

  • Generate links with other cities in the international network, and share experiences and knowledge

  • Reclaim traditional recipes and innovation

  • Promote the producers from our region

  • Implement community gastronomy initiatives

  • Publicise sustainable gastronomy practices

  • Facilitate training of new creative talent

The Creative Cities Network is a privileged partner of UNESCO, not only as a platform for reflection on the role of creativity as a lever for sustainable development but also as a breeding ground of action and innovation, notably for the implementation of the Agenda for Sustainable Development after 2015.
